Build and Conquer How to Play

Last updated 2026-10-10Unofficial player article

Learn how city construction connects to money and resource management, then research, manufacturing and mainland troop deployment.

Build and Conquer connects a home-country economy to mainland warfare. You start on an empty plot, develop a city, research technology, manufacture equipment and send troops through tunnels to contest strategic areas. Playing well means choosing which part of that loop deserves your attention next.

This missile-unlock demonstration shows the military side of a country that has moved beyond its opening settlement.

Construction gives your country its foundation

Neighbourhoods, roads, farms, shops, factories, power plants and water networks are all part of the building game. Large cities are a long-term objective, but an empty plot does not need to become a huge capital immediately. A compact starting area leaves you money and space for the next project.

Choose a purpose before adding construction. If you are working on a residential district, roads and neighbourhoods belong in that plan. If you are preparing industrial development, factories belong in a different plan. Treat this as an editorial way to organize your session, rather than a prescribed build order.

Management continues after placement

Money, workers, population, resources, happiness, power, research and production remain part of the country as it grows. Construction is therefore only one part of how to play: you also need to decide whether growth, services or preparation for war should take priority.

How the country loop connects
Country taskWhat it contributesA useful session goal
ConstructionA country with cities and buildingsFinish a manageable district
ManagementAttention to finances, people and resourcesKeep the existing city organized
Research and manufacturingTechnology, vehicles and missilesPrepare equipment for a chosen objective
Mainland operationsTroops, alliances and contested areasPursue a limited campaign

A useful habit is to finish one coherent project before starting several others. Expanding the city while also financing vehicles and preparing missiles can spread your attention across unrelated needs. You can return to those goals later; they do not all need to happen in the same opening session.

Research and war extend the same country

Research new technology before turning your military ambitions into manufacturing plans. The game includes vehicles and missiles, and troops reach the mainland through tunnels. Alliances, city defense and control of strategic areas give that equipment a purpose beyond simply owning it.

Pick a campaign objective before committing your country to a war. An alliance can make sense when you share a goal; defending your city matters when your earlier construction is at risk. Chasing every conflict at once makes it harder to protect the place you built.

For an opening-session plan, read the beginner guide. When diplomacy becomes your next decision, continue to alliances rather than treating every other nation as an automatic target.
